2025 in Review
This past year has been one of incredible growth and community spirit. Our team loved every minute of 'hanging out' with you—whether it was at the library or during our visits to the schools, the Senior Center, Carriage House, and the Veterans Home. We’ve worked hard to provide the programs you asked for and have made steady, responsible progress on improving our building.
Even in the face of a summer break-in, your incredible kindness and donations helped us emerge stronger and closer than ever. Our hearts are full. From the entire staff and the Trustees at Hall Memorial Library, thank you for making our work so rewarding.
2025 by the Numbers
The Raven Gael Blaisdell Foundation
Summer 2025 saw the successful second year of Movies in the Park, a series of five free community movie nights at Riverfront Park. This initiative was a true "village effort," made possible by the Raven Gael Blaisdell Foundation, the Tilton Police and Park Departments, and the Tilton DPW.
Attendees enjoyed local pizza from Tilton House, Domino's, and Pizza Hut, with water provided by Crystal Geyser. Most importantly, through our partnership with the Raven Gael Blaisdell Foundation, every child in attendance received a free book, further bridging the gap in literacy access within our community.
Friends of Hall Memorial Library
Our core Friends of Hall Memorial Library group has been working tirelessly to raise funds and enhance our library’s spaces and
programs. While their hard work has already made a visible difference, we are looking for new faces to help us grow even further. If you love the library and have even one hour a month to spare, we would love to have you! Join a group of neighbors dedicated to keeping HML vibrant. Our meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of every month at 4:00 PM—we hope to see you there!
Looking Forward
As we move into 2026, our focus remains on finding meaningful ways to engage with you—not just within our walls, but throughout the entire town. At the library, we often talk about how we can support the town, but the truth is that we are equally supported by you. This year, we want to bring that spirit of mutual care to the forefront by focusing on local projects, local stories, and—most importantly—all of you.
In many ways, we are looking to get back to our roots. We want to recapture that nostalgic feeling of being "home by the time the streetlights come on"—the era of neighborhood block parties and the simple kindness of watering a neighbor’s plants while they’re away.
Our world has become very large, very fast. The emergence of incredible technology and global social networks allows us to connect with people across the world in an instant. While that progress is amazing and we are certainly here for it, there is something to be said for the coziness and safety of a strong, bonded community.
To bring this vision to life, we have some fantastic programs and events planned for this year, and we cannot wait to share them all with you. Beyond our events, we will be introducing new services and supports designed specifically to help you feel that vital sense of belonging. We are bursting with new ideas to make the library feel even more like your home base.
We hope that this year, you will take the leap with us to get back to the heart of what it means to be a community. We are so excited for 2026, and we hope you will be too!
Warmly,
Brittany Shanahan
