2024 Annual Report
This past year brought a period of transition with several team changes. We've emerged from this period stronger and more cohesive than ever. With many new cardholders and a huge summer reading program we have been very busy and we love it!
Our library community banded together to create a new non-profit fundraising group, Friends of Hall Memorial Library. They have hosted several successful "Build-A-Friend" events where families can create their own unique stuffed animals for a small fee. In addition they have generously supported the beautification of the library, both inside and out. This includes much-needed improvements to our cherished Finemore Memorial Garden.
The library staff successfully completed several significant renovation projects this year. A major accomplishment was the installation of energy-efficient LED lighting throughout the building, resulting in a substantial reduction in electricity costs – over 50%. This project was achieved without requiring additional taxpayer funding, thanks to a combination of grants, incentives, and the project's own cost savings.
This year, we successfully launched a new program: Movies in the Park. Made possible through the generous support of the Raven Gael Blaisdell Foundation, the Tilton Police Department, the Tilton Park Department, and the Tilton DPW, we hosted five free movie nights at Riverfront Park. These events were enjoyed by the entire community, featuring pizza from local favorites like Tilton House, Domino's, and Pizza Hut. We were also able to offer water generously donated by Crystal Geyser and provided a book to every child in attendance. Movies in the Park were a resounding success, and we were thrilled to connect with so many members of our community.
We are very grateful to have the Northfield DPW taking over plowing our parking lot and sidewalk this winter. This was a huge help to us and a great savings to the community.
We have big plans for the coming year, with a strong focus on engaging the community in meaningful ways, both within our library and throughout the town. We're excited to partner with you to make a positive impact.
